CCTV Monitoring

We operate CCTV cameras in reception, retail/shop areas and treatment rooms. Cameras record video only - audio recording is disabled. Recording takes place 24 hours a day for the purposes of protecting the safety of patients, staff and visitors; preventing and investigating crime; protecting clinic property and equipment; and providing evidence where a complaint, dispute or allegation arises in connection with treatment or conduct.

We process this footage on the basis of our legitimate interests under Article 6(1)(f) UK GDPR. Where footage from a treatment room may reveal information about your health or the treatment you received, we rely on Article 9(2)(f) UK GDPR (the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims) as our condition for processing this special category data.

Footage is retained for 90 days, after which it is automatically deleted, unless it needs to be kept for longer to investigate an incident, complaint, insurance claim or legal matter. Access to footage is restricted to authorised staff. We may share footage with the police, our insurers, our legal advisers, or regulatory bodies where necessary and lawful.

If you would prefer not to be recorded during your treatment, a camera-free treatment room is available - please ask a member of staff.
