Morpheus 8 Treatment
As we begin to age, the body loses the ability to produce collagen and elastin as it once did, resulting in a loss of skin volume and firmness. Morpheus8 is a revolutionary method of skin tightening which rebuilds and reinforces the underlying structure of your skin through microneedling combined with radiofrequency (RF) technology.
How does Morpheus8 work?
Through the power of radiofrequenscy technology, Morpheus8 is so much more than a traditional microneedling treatment. The Morpheus8 handheld applicator has a head with gold-plated steel micro-pins. These pins disperse radio frequency energy in preselected depths of 2 millimeters, 3 millimeters, or 4 millimeters, longer than those used in a traditional microneedling treatment.
As these needles penetrate deep into the layers of your skin, powerful RF energy is channeled into your skin, heating the tissue to stimulate your body’s production of collagen and elastin. At the same time, the energy tightens the existing fibres and remodels fat, so the contours of your face are refined, and the skin firmed to leave you with a youthful finish. It works deeper than any other device in the industry to lift, tighten and smooth your complexion – resulting in superior sculpting and a youthful-looking glow. FDA-approved Morpheus8 uses 24 microneedles to reduce fine lines and wrinkles, improve skin tone, and tighten areas of laxity. By penetrating the skin’s deepest layers, it triggers the ‘rebuilding’ of your complexion. This achieves the most natural-looking youth boost with a contoured effect.
What areas does Morpheus8 treat?
Morpheus8 is a versatile treatment for the face and body which can be used to reinforce the underlying structure of your skin on the face and body. The most commonly treated areas include the mid- to lower-face and neck, but it may be used on any areas which exhibit:
• Skin Laxity
• Acne scarring
• Lines and creases
Is there any downtime as part of the recovery?
Because Morpheus8 is non-surgical, there is little downtime associated with your treatment. Most patients find they are comfortable returning to work the day after the procedure. You may experience mild pinpoint bleeding immediately following treatment, which should resolve itself within a few minutes. Your skin may look and feel as if you have a sunburn for up to seven days following treatment with Morpheus8. Ensure you protect your skin with adequate sun protection following your procedure, as it will be particularly susceptible to sun damage.
What should I know before undergoing treatment with Morpheus8?
Morpheus8 is a safe, relatively painless treatment to treat the visible signs of aging. Most patients are able to see results within a few days of treatment, with full results achieved after approximately one month. It is often recommended to undergo a series of one to three treatments to enjoy the most noticeable benefits.
Your practitioner can use the Morpheus8 device to target any areas where you might have scarring, discolouration, dullness, fine lines, wrinkles, dark under-eyes or loss of firmness. The treatment is designed for the face and neck, but can even be applied to parts of the body to smooth stretch marks and encourage firmness.
Starting out with Morpheus8
Your Morpheus8 appointment will take around 30 minutes, and you’ll experience minimal discomfort or downtime afterwards. You can simply get up and glow once you’re done. We recommend a course of around two to three treatments spaced 4 weeks apart for optimal results.
How does the treatment work?
The Morpheus8 by InMode applicator features 24 coated pins, which will penetrate the subdermal tissue to trigger a healing response that ‘rebuilds’ your skin. At the same time, the radiofrequency energy will heat up the surface of skin to promote collagen production. Together, the two help to contour, smooth and renew your complexion.
Is morpheus8 painful?
Before your treatment, a numbing cream or local anaesthetic is used to ensure you’ll only experience minimal discomfort throughout.
How much downtime will there be?
Downtime is minimal. You should avoid applying makeup or touching your face for up to 24 hours post-treatments. Minor redness may be visible for up to one week.
When can results be seen?
You will notice immediate as well as longer term improvements in your skin. Optimal results will take around 3 months to appear as your skin continues to improve. Results may last about a year, so annual follow-up sessions may be requires in order to maintain the results.
For the first 3 days after Morpheus8 keep your face as dry and clean as possible. Wash only with lukewarm water, gently pat dry treated skin until it heals. Make sure your hands are clean when touching the treated area.
Protect your skin with broad spectrum physical SPF (at least SPF 30, better SPF 50) at all times from 3 days after the procedure.
When can you wear make-up?
From 3 days after Morpheus8 treatment.
We recommend taking Arnica 3x daily orally for 7 days before your Morpheus8 treatment, it will help to reduce the risk of bruising.
A week before treatment, discontinue any irritant topical products like Acids, Retinol, Vita C or scrubs as well as any NSAID medicines (if your medical condition allows) such as Aspirin or Ibuprofen that interfere with normal blood clotting a week before treatment.
We also don’t recommend any abrasive treatments like laser/microneedling or harsh facials as well as prolonged sun exposure, fake tan or sun-beds (any active tan) 4 weeks before.
Numbing cream will be applied in the clinic 45 minutes before the treatment.
Please arrive to your appointment with clean skin, no lotion, make-up or oil.
